Once upon a time, in a land far away from Germany…
Wait. Not once upon a time, but now. And not far away, but simply Germany’s northern neighbour.
In Denmark, electric cars accounted for 73.7% of new car sales in November. Of the private individuals who purchased a new car, 91% opted for an electric car.
Denmark, the Norway of the European Union, also appears to have a strong preference for products from the German automotive industry. The top four best-selling vehicles on the Danish market are built on the same EV platform from Volkswagen. And the top ten includes two more models based on the same technology.
One might almost think that speaking Danish could be useful for meaningful industrial economic policy. But then again, that was once upon a time.
