Hackathon to give an impulse to smart charging

The Living Lab Smart Charging is a public-private partnership between DSOs, local authorities, utilities and e-mobility operators, collaborating to shape the energy system of the future. Improving smart charging applications is one of their main focus areas.

In order to give an impulse to smart charging and release all its power, Watture initiated, organised and designed the Smart Charging Challenge Hackathon in March 2018. Rewarding the best ideas with a monetary reward and support for further development, the hackathon focused on a number of challenges, including improving the (local) use of excess solar power, balancing the energy flows in the grid and making it easy to find the best available charging spot.

  • Participating partners were able to use the ideas and insights from the hackathon
  • Engagement with both stakeholders in the field and young talent
  • Marketing Living Lab Smart Charging platform and partners
